Meet The Artist

Hi! My name is Debbie. Here's a little about me. I was born to Jamaican parents, in Brooklyn, and grew up in South Florida.

After graduating from high school, I attended Florida State and earned my Masters in Interior Design. I also studied Graphic Design and took courses in Architecture, at FAMU.

I relocated to the Tampa Bay Area in late 2017, where I worked in the Hotel Industry, doing Sales and Events. In 2020, with the arrival of Covid, I was let go. During a time of uncertainty and isolation, my love for art became my outlet.

I remember in times past, I used to wish I had more time to work on my craft…and the day I was let go, I was reminded of that.

I continued to paint and draw as I've always done, even creating an Etsy shop to sell my pieces online. And I remember, I kept seeing resin art online, wondering what it was. Eventually, I decided to look into it. And after watching video after video, I sought out to try it. My first several attempts were terrible! But through trial and error, I was able to figure it out, and here we are today.

I feel honored and blessed to be able to do what I love on a daily basis. My inspiration comes from my mother, who is an artist herself. I grew up watching her draw, paint, write, and just create. I can remember as a little girl, sitting with her at a table, as she taught me how to draw a house. A memory I hope to never forget. My goal is to continue her legacy of love and creativity and to make her proud.
